Ahsoka (Disney +): the release date of the Star Wars series and new images unveiled

The future of the Star Wars universe is becoming clearer. Series Ahsokaannounced for this summer, now has a specific release date on Disney+, via a new teaser.

Return of Thrawn

In a teaser of 30 small seconds, the next Star Wars series has set a horizon of expectation for fans of the universe imagined by George Lucas. Take out your diary: Ahsoka will be broadcast from August 23 on Disney+, at the rate of one episode per week. With eight episodes, the end of the series will therefore take place on October 11.

In addition to the air date, these new images reveal a little more about the characters, like Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Above all, the teaser raises expectations around Grand Admiral Thrawn, the main antagonist of the series.

The character, already appeared in the series Star Wars: Rebels, is a formidable high ranking officer of the Empire. embodied in Ahsoka by actor Lars Mikkelsen (Borgen, The Witcher), he should establish himself as the great villain of the future Star Wars film directed by Dave Filoni, a direct sequel to The Mandalorian. No release date for the film has yet been announced.

Alongside Rosario Dawson in the main role and the actors already mentioned, the series Ahsoka counts in its cast Wes Chatham, Ray Stevenson, Eman Esfandi, Ivanna Sakhno, David Tennant, with the returns of Genevieve O’Reilly in Mon Mothma and Hayden Christensen in Darth Vader.
