Familiar yet new faces are in on the action in the series’ new trailer Star Wars: Ahsoka. The fans of Star Wars: Rebels especially likely to enjoy it.

We will appreciate less to remember that this is probably the last role of the late Ray Stevenson…

Star Wars: Ahsoka shows teeth

Expected from August 23 on Disney + with two episodes at once, Star Wars: Ahsoka will then let itself be watched at the rate of one episode per week. In the meantime, the series (which has already given birth to LEGO) today unveils a new poster and above all a trailer which delivers several elements.

The first is that we are indeed here the day after the fall of the Empire, and therefore in the same time period treated by The Mandalorian. It will be a sequel to the animated series. Star Wars: Rebels, since almost all of its characters will be present in the guise of real actors and actresses. Dave Filoni is also writing once again, supported in production by Jon Favreau.

The long-awaited return of Grand Admiral Thrawn

Unsurprisingly, Rosario Dawson, already seen in The Mandalorian, will be back in the title role. This will investigate a latent threat that could upset the fragile balance of the galaxy, still vulnerable. This threat is none other than Grand Admiral Thrawn, truly embodied for the occasion by Lars Mikkelsen, whose true face we finally see. The actor already lent his voice to the character in animation.

The rest of the cast had already been seen in the previous trailer. On the allied side, it is thus a question of Natasha Liu Bordizzo in Sabine Wren, of Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Hera Syndulla, or even of Eman Esfandi in Ezra Bridger. Fans will also appreciate a small reference to his animated face in the trailer.

As for the other antagonists, Ray Stevenson (Black Sails), who had already lent his voice to a character in Star Wars: Rebels, here embodies a Sith named Baylan Skoll. He is accompanied by his apprentice, Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno). Finally, David Tennant will again lend his voice to the droid Huyang.

Disney+

  • Disney classics in one place
  • Exclusive Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars series
  • 4K, HDR and Atmos at no extra cost

It was highly anticipated and did not disappoint. Disney+ is not a Netflix rival, but a complementary offer, geared particularly towards children (young and old) and more broadly towards the family. The Star universe, meanwhile, is beginning to bear fruit by offering more and more original or exclusive series.
