  • The AHV spent more money on pensions last year – but also earned more through contributions.
  • The bottom line is that the so-called “allocation result”, i.e. the difference between expenses and income, was positive and amounted to around 1.2 billion francs, according to the responsible compensation fund “Compenswiss”.

For last year, the AHV reported a contribution result of 1,229 billion francs, the IV of 50 million francs and the EO of 173 million francs, according to the statement from Compenswiss.

Compenswiss is the compensation fund for old-age and survivors’ insurance (AHV), disability insurance (IV) and the income compensation scheme (EO). The federal public institution ensures that social insurance companies are willing to pay as well as their accounting and business reports.

The positive contribution result for social insurance for 2023 leads to an equally positive operating result of 2,857 billion francs for the AHV, 206 million francs for the IV and 246 million francs for the EO. The IV’s debts to the AHV remain unchanged at over 10 billion francs.
