Artificial intelligence will be at the center of the new features that Apple will present for iOS 18. And certain native applications should take full advantage of it.

We know that Apple is focusing on artificial intelligence for the next version of its operating system, iOS 18. AI should therefore burst onto iPhones across several formats. On the one hand, a chatbot similar to ChatGPT could thus be created, thanks to an agreement about to be concluded with OpenAI. On the other hand, native smartphone applications could be boosted by this technology. This is what should happen in particular for Dictaphone, the voice recording application!

AI will make it possible to immediately transcribe vocal speeches

The arrival of AI on iPhones should change a lot of things. And in particular, the Dictaphone application, if we are to believe this information which comes fromAppleInsider. Indeed, with iOS 18, the application used to record voice messages (personal note or even interviews) will undergo a serious modernization.

It will thus be possible in the future to see the message being recorded being transcribed live on the application. An option which will be a significant time saver for all those who have to write down what was previously oral.

Anything new for Notes?

And it is not only the Dictaphone application which will benefit from this type of novelty in iOS 18. Still according to the same source, Notes should experience a small revolution, since the application would for the first time integrate the possibility of taking voice notes, which will be transcribed by AI based on the model of what happens with Dictaphone.

The AI will also be able to produce a summary of the transcription of the voice recording carried out on Notes, which should significantly reduce the work for many people using the application. Suffice it to say that given the various news coming to us on AI and Apple, the next WWDC in June will be eagerly awaited!
