Aida restart announced: cruises will be possible again soon

As the company reported on Monday in Rostock, the approval from Italy for the restart concepts is now available. According to this, the ship "Aidablu" is supposed to leave Kiel for a short trip to Norway and Denmark on September 6th. Further seven-day trips are planned from Hamburg with the "Aidaperla" from September 12th to the Norwegian fjords.

Further cruises cannot start until the beginning of October

With the exception of these trips, due to the current pandemic situation, the company must extend the interruption of the cruise season that has been ongoing since mid-March until September 30, 2020. Originally, short trips without going ashore were supposed to start in Hamburg on August 5th, Rostock and Kiel were to be added later. These plans failed due to the lack of permits from Italy.

For the planned restart, Aida had flown 750 crew members from Asia in three aircraft on July 22nd. Multiple corona tests after landing have now revealed twelve infected people who were subsequently isolated.
