Monday, April 4, in the early morning, an octogenarian was surprised not to see his wife in bed by his side in their house in Saint-Jean-de-Gonville.
Around 6:30 a.m., he got up and made a gruesome discovery. In the kitchen, his wife and son lay face down, each bathed in a pool of blood. The son was completely naked.
The man went out to alert neighbors who called the emergency services and the gendarmes. Deputy prosecutor François Blanc, from the Bourg-en-Bresse prosecutor’s office, also went there.
Stabbing
According to the first observations on the spot of the forensic doctor of the medico-legal Institute of Lyon (IML), the son, aged 48, had a kitchen knife, with a blade of about fifteen centimeters, inserted until the guard in the chest, below the collarbone.
Her 76-year-old mother had been stabbed seven times to the left side of her chest. Defense wounds were also observed.
An autopsy is to be performed Tuesday at the IML. According to the first elements of the investigation, no intervention of a third party would be in question for the moment and the track of a family drama would be privileged.
The son would have been under protective measures for psychological problems.
