Air cooler in comparison: cheap alternative to air conditioning?

Unlike classic air conditioning systems, air coolers usually do not have an exhaust hose. This makes the devices mobile and can be placed in any room. In addition, they are usually much more environmentally friendly than conventional air conditioning systems. After all, the devices work on the principle of heat exchange with simple steam. The air does not have to be tempered with a chemical coolant, as is the case with air conditioning systems, most of which also require significantly more energy due to the complex cooling system.

This should be considered when buying and using an air cooler

So that the cooled water vapor can be distributed evenly in the room, it is optimal if the air cooler has an automatically swiveling fan that is able to cool such a large area. The size of the water tank can also be important for the purchase decision. The larger the tank, the less often it needs to be refilled. The weight of the air cooler is also an important purchase criterion. After all, in many cases it should be used in different rooms, so it has to be moved.

If the air cooler is quite heavy, it should at least be equipped with castors so that it can be easily pushed from A to B. Attention should also be paid to the evaporation volume. The more powerful a device is, the higher the cooling capacity. And then there’s volume, which matters depending on location. If the air cooler is used in the office or the kitchen, the noise pollution may not be as significant as in the living room or even the bedroom. However, a special whisper mode is an advantage in all cases.

However, one should also keep in mind that an air cooler cannot be used to cool the room down at will, as would be possible with high-quality air conditioning systems.
