Air France: 189 destinations served this summer


(Boursier.com) — In a context of sustained demand, Air France continues the expansion of its global network this summer with capacity up 9% on long-haul and 85 destinations served. In North America, the company will resume service to Minneapolis (Minnesota) on May 13, with a daily flight; will inaugurate on May 23 a new connection between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Phoenix (Arizona), operated 3 times a week by Boeing 787-9; and will extend its service to Raleigh-Durham (North Carolina), inaugurated in winter 2023, into the summer. This service will also be reinforced, with up to 7 flights per week, compared to 3 during the winter season.

On the occasion of the Cannes Film Festival, Air France will also operate two special flights between Los Angeles (United States) and Nice (France), in an Airbus A350 equipped with the latest travel cabins. This summer Air France will offer more than 210 flights per week to 17 destinations in the United States and nearly 60 flights per week to 5 destinations in Canada.

In addition to growth on the North America network, the summer 2024 program will be marked by: the extension over the summer of the daily service to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, inaugurated in winter 2023 ; e renewal of the service to Dar Es Salam (Tanzania), inaugurated in the summer of 2023, with 3 flights per week continuing from Zanzibar; strengthening the offer to Japan, with two daily flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Tokyo-Haneda. Air France also serves Tokyo-Narita Airport with up to 4 flights per week; the addition of frequencies to key destinations in Africa and the Indian Ocean. Cotonou (Benin) and Antananarivo (Madagascar) will thus be served daily. Two daily flights will be offered to Cameroon, divided between Yaoundé and Douala. Finally, flights to Brazzaville (Republic of Congo) will now be operated by Airbus A350-900.

In addition, Air France will continue the deployment of its new long-haul cabins this summer, offered on Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900. This new product, available in Business, Premium Economy and Economy, constitutes the company’s new standard. After New York JFK, New York Newark, Washington DC, Boston, Houston, Rio de Janeiro, Bangkok, Dakar, Tokyo-Haneda, Hong Kong, Seoul Incheon, Shanghai and Johannesburg, these new cabins will be deployed this summer to Toronto, Chicago, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Papeete, Mexico and Tokyo-Narita.

On medium-haul, Air France will offer, in addition to its usual network, 45 seasonal connections in France and Europe. Three new services will be inaugurated from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, to: Verona (Italy), up to 3 flights per week from April 2; Narvik Lofoten (Norway), one flight every Saturday from June 15 to August 31; and Kalamata (Greece), one flight every Saturday from July 6 to August 31.

The service to Tromsø (Norway), until now only provided in winter, will be extended to the summer season, with up to 2 flights per week in Airbus A319. Transavia France, the low-cost subsidiary of the Air France-KLM Group, will offer connections to 116 destinations in 33 countries this summer via 206 routes. It will once again be the first low-cost airline from Paris airports.
