(Boursier.com) — Air France and Afrijet today announce that they have signed a commercial cooperation agreement (known as an “interline” agreement) allowing journeys made on the two companies to be combined on the same Air France ticket.
Through this agreement, which is scheduled to be implemented at the end of March 2024, the two companies aim to develop air traffic to/from Libreville airport, which will become a connecting platform in Central Africa. The objective is therefore to increase Gabon’s regional and international connectivity, and to facilitate the experience for customers of both companies.
The marketing supported by Air France at the global level will also give strong international visibility to the Gabon destination and to Afrijet’s regional network.

As part of this agreement, customers of both companies will benefit from the following benefits:
– The possibility of booking the entire route at once and on a single Air France ticket, combining flights operated by Air France and Afrijet. Reservations will be possible up to 1 year before departure, allowing you to benefit from the best rates.
– Registration of passengers and their hold baggage throughout the journey, from the departure airport to the final destination. In the case of a same-day connection, the customer will not have to collect their baggage at the transit point, they will collect it at their final destination.
– A simple and fast passenger transit circuit in Libreville, facilitating connections to/from Port Gentil (Air France and Afrijet flights will be operated from the main terminal of Libreville airport, where the transit passenger circuit will take place ).
– Support for customer accommodation by Air France or Afrijet in the event of a missed connection in Libreville following a flight delay.

Zoran Jelkic, General Manager Long Haul Air France – KLM underlines “that this is an important regional agreement for Air France. It will allow us to both connect new Gabonese and regional destinations not served by Air France, such as Port-Gentil, Franceville, Bata or Sao Tomé, to our global network but also to strengthen our offer in regional destinations where we are already present. This agreement will also allow us to offer our customers a better travel experience, notably with the possibility of checking in their baggage(s) from the point of departure to the final destination, and benefiting from a simpler and smoother transit at Libreville airport.”

Marc Gaffajoli, General Administrator of Afrijet Business Service declared: “We firmly believe in partnerships for the development of interconnection in Africa and are happy to see this agreement come to fruition in line with this approach. This agreement with Air France, matured long-standing, will allow us to develop a regional network soon covering the entire Gulf of Guinea. Above all, it constitutes the opportunity to offer our joint customers an end-to-end service, to the IATA security standard around a flight program consistent with their continental and regional mobility needs.
