Air France-KLM chooses CFM International for the engine of its A320neo – 2022-04-05 at 12:00

(AOF) – Air France-KLM announced Monday evening that it has chosen to enter into exclusive negotiations with CFM International for the purchase of LEAP-1A engines to equip its future fleet of Airbus A320neo and A321neo. This decision follows the order, announced last December, of 100 Airbus A320neo family aircraft – with acquisition rights for 60 additional aircraft, in order to renew the fleets of KLM and Transavia Netherlands, and to renew and to grow that of Transavia France.

“Manufactured by CFM International – a 50% joint venture between GE Aviation and Safran Aircraft Engines – the LEAP-1A engine is a latest-generation engine, which contributes to the overall performance and efficiency of Airbus family aircraft. A320neo,” the airline explained.

CFM International already supplies the group with engines for its Boeing 737 NG (CFM56-7B) and Airbus A320ceo (CFM56-5B) fleets.
