The platform for renting accommodation between individuals intends to prevent the use of apartments, houses or villas to organize parties there. In this logic, Airbnb continues to refine a tool to fight against overflows.

Thanks to its new strategy, Airbnb announces that it has seen a 48% drop in reports of unauthorized parties in France in two years.

Airbnb, the party is over in France too

Renting a house for a weekend via Airbnb, and having a hellish evening there, is what the famous platform has been trying to eradicate for 3 years now. Airbnb codified the party ban last year, after a global pilot led to an overall drop in reporting.

Since the introduction of the first party ban measures on Airbnb, we have seen a 48% drop in reports of unauthorized parties in France in two years “, we explain at Airbnb. Recently, the platform also offered many new features aimed at easing tensions between hosts and customers.

Today, the community platform service for rental of accommodation between individuals announces the launch in France of a new analysis tool, designed to further reduce the risk of impromptu parties.

A measure to fight against malicious users

Without revealing too much, Airbnb explains that its new system incorporates a series of measures which, taken together, should make it possible to prevent as much as possible reservations which could present a risk.

These measures include various factors relating to the traveler’s account and their booking request, such as their review history, length of stay, distance from the traveler’s home to the city where the listing is located, or yet the date of the reservation.

For Airbnb, it is about optimizing the reduction of the risks of incidents related to security or material damage on its platform.

The group is particularly vigilant at certain times of the year (New Year in particular), and also offers a range of tools for neighbors or communities to report any problem.

In addition, Airbnb allows hosts to cancel a reservation without consequence, but they must then provide proof that a traveler intended to organize a party (last minute reservation at the end of the week, exchanges with the traveler , comments from another host…).
