Airbus: 9% decline in net profit over nine months


(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus publishes a turnover of 42,560 ME over nine months, up 12% compared to the same period a year earlier, despite a 4% decline in defense activities.

Still over 9 months, the adjusted EBIT stands at 3,631 ME (+4%) while the reported EBIT stands at 2,712 ME (-24%).

The European aircraft manufacturer announces that its R&D expenses increased by 10% compared to the first nine months of the previous financial year, to 2167 ME, for a net result over nine months of 2332 ME, down 9%.

Earnings per share thus came to 2.96 euros, down 9%.

Between January and September, Airbus indicates that it recorded 1,280 gross orders for commercial aircraft (compared to 856 aircraft a year earlier) and 1,241 net orders after cancellations (9m 2022: 647 aircraft).

‘Demand remains very strong for our commercial aircraft as recovery continues in the widebody market. Tensions are expected to persist in the supply chain as production ramps up. In this context, we maintain our forecasts for the year,’ commented Guillaume Faury, Executive Chairman of Airbus.
