Airbus A320 collides with wild boar shortly after landing

It's not just birds and planes that sometimes collide. In Pakistan, a wild boar hit the runway on which an Etihad Airbus A320 landed.

Braking, stopping down, honking and, in the worst case, holding the steering wheel straight and straight: Anyone who runs an animal in front of the car on the street should remember these rules from the driving school.

But not only car drivers have to reckon with game changes on the ground, but in rare cases also pilots.

This is shown by an incident with an Etihad Airbus A320 in Islamabad. The plane was on a flight from Abu Dhabi to Pakistan's capital last Saturday. After it was touched down, it collided with a wild boar when braking on the runway.

It's not just birds that get in the way of planes

The crew noticed the animal before the collision, reports the Aviation Herald portal, which specializes in aviation accidents. But of course she couldn't brake because of that.

After the impact, the Airbus A320 rolled out without further occurrences and on to the gate. The jet was not damaged, but airport employees found the animal dead on the runway.

Airplanes most often collide with birds. However, other animals sometimes get in the way of aircraft.

Foxes or rabbits often get lost on the runways. Last summer, a bear even walked across an airport in Russia.

Deer are dangerous

A study by the American aviation authority FAA also showed that in the past, deer caused the most irreparable damage after collisions in the United States.
