(Boursier.com) — Answer in a week? After months of speculation, Air India would this time be very close to unveiling its mega-order for Airbus and Boeing aircraft. According to the latest information obtained by ‘Reuters’, the contract would cover a total of 425 single-aisle aircraft, including 235 Airbus A320neo family aircraft. Last month, Reuters had already reported that the order was also for 190 Boeing 737 MAX. It should also include up to 70 jumbo jets, including 40 Airbus A350s, as well as 20 B787s and 10 B777Xs.
At list price, this contract, one of the largest in history, would be worth tens of billions of dollars. The carriers nevertheless obtain significant discounts during this type of agreement.
