(Boursier.com) – Airbus signed a contract with Azorra for 22 A220 family aircraft, including 20 A220-300 and 2 ACJ TwoTwenty.

Azorra is an aircraft rental company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, which focuses on business, regional and mid-size (crossover) aircraft.

The Azorra purchase is the latest for the A220 family aircraft and reaffirms strong market demand for Airbus’ all-new single-aisle aircraft.

The A220 is the only aircraft specifically designed for the 100-150 seat market and brings together state-of-the-art aerodynamics, advanced materials and latest generation PW1500G geared turbofan type engines from Pratt & Whitney. With a 50% reduced noise footprint and up to 25% lower fuel consumption per seat than previous generation aircraft, along with approximately 50% lower NOx emissions than industry standards, the A220 is an excellent aircraft for regional routes and long distances.

Remember that at the end of December 2021, the A220 had accumulated 668 orders from more than 25 customers. To date, 13 airlines operate nearly 190 aircraft on 4 continents.
