Airbus: contract for 20 Eurofighters for Spain – 06/23/2022 at 15:27

(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus announces that the NETMA agency (NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency) has signed a historic contract for the acquisition of 20 new generation Eurofighters, an order placed under the Halcon program.

This order provides for the delivery of 16 single-seater and four two-seater combat aircraft equipped with electronically scanned array (E-Scan) radars, which will replace the fleet of F-18s operated by the Spanish Air Force in the Canary Islands.

This contract will bring the total number of Spanish Eurofighters to 90. Delivered from 2026, these new aircraft will strengthen the power and posture of the Spanish air force within NATO, and guarantee an industrial load plan until 2030.

This contract, worth 2.04 billion euros, approved by the Spanish Council of Ministers on December 14, 2021, includes aircraft, engines, a simulator and associated support services.
