Airbus: deliveries and orders up in April

(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus announced on Tuesday that it had delivered and sold more aircraft in April than in the same month last year, confirming the favorable commercial dynamics currently experienced by the aircraft manufacturer.

The European group reported this morning 61 deliveries to 33 customers over the past month, compared with 54 units delivered to 32 customers a year earlier.

This figure corresponds to an increase of around 13% from one year to the next.

Over the first four months of the year, Airbus says it has at this stage 203 deliveries compared to 181 over the same period of 2013, an increase of more than 12%.

Regarding contracts, the aircraft manufacturer says it recorded 57 gross orders in April, a sharp increase compared to the five gross orders recorded a year earlier.

Airbus has set itself the objective of delivering around 800 commercial aircraft this year, compared to 735 last year, counting in particular on a re-acceleration of activity from the second half of the year.

Following this announcement, the stock advanced 0.7%, slightly outperforming a CAC 40 index up 0.6%.
