Airbus is studying the acquisition of the cybersecurity branch of Atos

The cybersecurity division of Atos still arouses envy. After Thales, it is Airbus’ turn to take an interest in the latter, according to BFM Business, which cites several sources. Such an acquisition would strengthen the Defense & Space branch of the aeronautical group. The two companies know each other well since they are linked by a strategic partnership in R&D in the field of cybersecurity, established in 2015.

On the other hand, there is no question for Airbus of acquiring the entire Atos group. Guillaume Faury [PDG d’Airbus, NDLR] considers that this file is too complicated compared to the stakes of Airbus”, said a source quoted by BFM Business. In addition to cybersecurity, the historical activities of Atos could arouse the interest of players such as Sopra Steria or Inetum, according to the economic media which specifies that the IT services division of the French group is the subject of studies on its future.
