(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus announces that Lufthansa Group has signed an agreement for the acquisition of ten Airbus A350-1000s and five additional Airbus A350-900s, an order which allows the company to be part of a decarbonization trajectory of its fleet, estimates the European aircraft manufacturer.
Airbus recalls that the A350 consumes “significantly less fuel than previous generation aircraft and therefore generates fewer emissions”.
In addition, Airbus and Lufthansa have also signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening their cooperation in the field of sustainable development and future technologies.
In particular, the two companies intend to intensify the use of sustainable aviation fuels, continue to optimize operations through more efficient flight management and explore the use of hydrogen.
