(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus announced on Friday the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the American aerospace and defense group Northrop Grumman with a view to participating under a common banner in the British military satellite program.
The two groups recall that they were already collaborating within the framework of the national defense space architecture project ‘T1TL’ launched by the American Space Development Agency (SDA).
Airbus has thus been commissioned by Washington to provide 42 satellite platforms as well as assembly, integration and test, launch and commissioning support services for satellites.
In the United Kingdom, the European group has participated since 1974 in the Skynet military communications satellite program, of which it will develop the next model.
