(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus announces a firm order from Air Niugini, the national airline of Papua New Guinea, for six A220-100s as part of the modernization of its fleet. In addition, it will acquire three A220-300s and two A220-100s from third-party lessors.
Combining the longest range, lowest fuel consumption and widest cabin in the 100-150 seat category, the A220 will be operated by Air Niugini across its entire domestic and regional network.
The new fleet will increase the capacity and reliability of the domestic network and enable the airline to serve new destinations in the Asia-Pacific region from the capital Port Moresby.
