(Boursier.com) — Airbus would seek to reduce teams within the Defense and Space branch. According to union sources cited by ‘Reuters’, the European giant plans to cut 750 positions as part of a reorganization, or around 2% of its workforce. This reshuffle should not, as it stands, lead to layoffs but should result in a reduction in hiring in the next two years, union sources specified. A spokesperson for the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer confirmed to the agency the target of 750 job cuts, adding that this would not lead to an overall reduction in the workforce “while our business is growing”. Airbus’ Defense and Space division employed 34,330 people at the end of 2022.
