Aircall becomes the sixteenth French unicorn

Founded in 2014, the company has built its success on telephony in the cloud, against solutions “Archaic”, explains the co-founder. In companies, there is no longer a need for a telephone terminal: all calls are routed through an application that directs them to employees’ computers or their mobile phones.

Above all, the solution allows companies to have a memory and a more detailed analysis of the communications that have been established with their interlocutors: each can be archived in the form of text, decrypted to see the essential points that have been discussed from the keyword analysis. Discussions can be interfaced with business software to facilitate customer relations. “What we allow companies is to improve their communication, their interactions, by replacing traditional telephone operators”, says Jonathan Anguelov.

A useful solution for customer services, human resources departments, and sales people. Aircall does not claim to offer a cheaper solution than traditional telephony – around 30 euros per user per month – but assures that its offer allows companies to be more productive.

This new fundraising, after a previous one in 2020 of $ 65 million, was led by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, a branch of the American bank. Not surprising for a company which generates 85% of its turnover outside France, more than a third in the United States. Especially since it aims to go public, “Obviously” to the Nasdaq by 2034; as such, this new shareholder will be very useful to him.
