AK survey – More and more people have massive money worries

For every fifth person, the income is no longer sufficient, more than a third just make ends meet. After a survey on inflation, AK boss Heinzle calls for a rent cap.

The most recent online survey by AK Vorarlberg on inflation brought this dramatic finding. Massive money worries are becoming a permanent condition for more and more Vorarlbergers. “It is absolutely incomprehensible how the government can only continue to watch instead of finally taking action,” judges AK President Bernhard Heinzle. Short-term solutions – such as one-off payments to cushion inflation – would obviously not help people. Rent turns out to be high Economists would have proposed effective measures long ago. In addition to relieving the work factor, Heinzle is demanding a rent cap. “That would be a first and far-reaching step that would let many Vorarlbergers breathe a sigh of relief. After all, by no means everyone in the state enjoys the security of owning their own home,” the AK President refers to another AK study, according to which around 60 percent of Vorarlbergers live in rented accommodation. And this is often high, especially in the Ländle.
