Asked by our colleagues from the Journal du Dimanche, Alain Delon revealed the reason why he did not wish to attend the funeral of Romy Schneider. The actor also confides in the last moments of life of the one he loved.
It’s been 40 years since Romy Schneider left us. On this occasion, the Sunday newspaper wished to question Alain Delon, who was one of his companions. If he evokes his relationship with the actress with great tenderness, the father of Anthony Delon also returned to the funeral of Romy Schneider in which he did not participate. He reveals the reason as follows: “I didn’t want to be the target of photographers, it was voyeurism. I went to meditate on her grave a few days later, to be alone with her without anyone”, he confides.
If he did not go to the funeral, Alain Delon was still present during the last moments of Romy Schneider’s life: “I went to watch her at her house, I wrote her a letter which I have often read on television since then. I took a photo of her dead on her bed which I keep in my wallet: Romy has the I look like I’m sleeping a deep sleep… She’s beautiful, I often look at her”, he reveals modestly. Alain Delon also returned to the end of his own life, he who is still weakened by his stroke.

Every day there is a scandal, a rape, a killing of children. Don’t tell me that the world is happy! I find that life has become unbearable, it no longer appeals to me much“. As for his own funeral, Alain Delon is not sure of anything : “I may join my mother, buried in Bourg-la-Reine. Or else elsewhere. I don’t know yet. Above all, I want to have peace. I’m not afraid of dying. It’s normal, we go there. go all. But I’m afraid to suffer. I don’t want to end up in a hospital bed”. As usual, he was very cash.
