Alain Duhamel, furious: Brice Hortefeux would have “trapped” in a clandestine dinner: Current Woman The MAG

The controversy continues to swell. Who could have participated in the famous underground dinners organized by chef Christophe Leroy? The tongues obviously have trouble loosening … Starting with Pierre-Jean Chalençon, who refuses any responsibility in the organization of these social evenings out of sight. The former buyer ofCase Concluded continues to assert that these were just simple business meals at authorized times, without any politician presence. It was without counting the investigation of Mediapart which revealed on April 11, 2021 the presence of Brice Hortefeux at the Vivienne Palace but also that ofAlain Duhamel. The latter tried to defend himself on the set of BFMTV April 12, 2021.

“He trapped me (…) He put me in a ridiculous situation”

“First of all, I didn’t know I was going to lunch at Christophe Leroy’s”, began the political journalist, before continuing with a touch of bitterness towards his host Brice Hortefeux: “I was to have lunch with Brice Hortefeux, as with other politicians – much less at the moment, it must be said. It was planned that we would have lunch at the Republicans headquarters with a meal tray and in an office. And the day before, I received an SMS giving me a different address “. Arrived on the spot, Alain Duhamel realizes that it is neither an office, nor a meal in small committee: “I realized that it was not at all what I had imagined, thought and even less wanted”, he confided. “He tricked me, I think without wanting to, maybe without knowing it. He put me in a ridiculous situation”, launched the journalist about his friend Brice Hortefeux.

On the other hand, Alain Duhamel readily confided that the former Minister of the Overseas Interior had apologized as soon as the information had been revealed. He even presented her with sincere regrets. Still on the set of BFMTV, the political journalist felt that his friend had surely been “badly inspired”. As for Brice Hortefeux, he did not deny his actions revealed in Mediapart, quite the contrary. “A person I know came to me for something quite different, and in the conversation said to me: ‘If you have lunches or dinners, there is a business club of which I am a member and it is quite possible to organize that’. Everything seemed legal “, he explained to the investigative media. Fault confessed is half redressed ? To be continued …
