Sept 26 (Reuters) – Unilever said on Monday that its chief executive, Alan Jope, plans to leave the group at the end of 2023, after five years in the role.

Unilever, which makes Dove soap and Knorr bouillon cubes, among other products, said its board would officially start looking for a successor and would consider internal and external candidates.

“Growth remains our top priority and in the quarters ahead I will remain fully focused on the disciplined execution of our strategy,” Alan Jope said in a statement. (Report Yadarisa Shabong in Bangalore; French version Valentine Baldassari, editing by Kate Entringer)
