Alan Ritchson: He's the "Jack Reacher" successor to Tom Cruise

Alan Ritchson is set to star in the new "Jack Reacher" series. He is known from "Blue Mountain State" and "Titans".

Great opportunity for actor Alan Ritchson. The 37-year-old American will apparently follow in the footsteps of none other than Hollywood star Tom Cruise (58). As reported by the US portal "Deadline", among others, Ritchson has been found to be the leading actor in the new planned "Jack Reacher" series for Amazon Prime Video.

Not a blank slate

The plans to turn the Lee Childs (65) book series into a series format were already disclosed in July last year. According to a new report, the first season of the series will be based on the first in Georgia set "Jack Reacher" novel "megalomania" (original title: "The Killing Floor"). More seasons seem to be planned. The series is developed by "Scorpion" creator Nick Santora (50).

Former US military policeman Jack Reacher was played by Tom Cruise in the films for the book series, which were released in 2012 and 2016. A challenge for Alan Ritchson? The actor has already gained some TV and film experience. From 2010 to 2011 he appeared in the American football television series "Blue Mountain State" before he was involved in the 2013 Hollywood flick "The Hunger Games – Catching Fire". Ritchson can currently be seen in the DC Universe series "Titans" in the role of Hank Hall aka Hawk.
