Alan Wake 2: finally a sales figure, Remedy is happy

13 years after the first part, Remedy Entertainment threw Alan Wake 2, which is part of its Connected Universe with Control. A critically acclaimed game, but until this week the Finnish developer had not communicated the sales figures for its survival horroras a reminder only available in dematerialized version.

Fortunately, Remedy comes fromannounce thatAlan Wake 2 has sold more than 1.3 million copies, it’s the best start for a game from the studiowhich specifies that one million sales were made before the end of December 2023. To compare it to the studio’s previous game, Remedy adds that “Alan Wake 2 sold more than 50% more copies and more than three times as many digital copies in its first two months as Control did in its first four months.” Control has also exceeded 4 million copies sold since its release in 2019bringing in around 100 million euros to Remedy and the editor 505 Games. Tero Virtala, CEO from the studio, comments:

We are happy with the start of sales of Alan Wake 2. The price has also remained at a high level and the game has already recouped a significant part of the development and marketing expenses. We will continue to develop the game to serve existing fans and attract new players and we hope that the game continues to sell well. The successful launch of Alan Wake 2 has supported our other game projects: Condor, Control 2 and the Max Payne 1&2 remake have all accelerated the pace of development thanks to staff freed from Alan Wake 2, and we hope that these projects will reach their next stages of development in the first half of 2024. We now have two established franchises: Control and Alan Wake, which are linked through the Remedy Connected Universe. The growth and expansion of these franchises will be a key part of our future.

Of course, Remedy counts on the long term to do better with Alan Wake 2specifying that two paid expansions are expected to flesh out the story, without forgetting updates to support the game and its community. You can get the horror game via cards PSN available on Amazon, Cdiscount Or there Fnac.
