Alan Wake 2 is playable from start to finish internally at Remedy, Control 2 is moving forward too

Remedy is now working on several projects simultaneously, but the studio’s next game that should see the light of day will be the long-awaited Alan Wake 2. Scheduled for this year, the survival-horror should be talked about again soon, but to make us wait (while reassuring us), Remedy tells us a little more about the progress of development by sharing excellent news with us.

Alan Wake 2 is progressing well

During the studio’s financial statement, the CEO Tero Virtala wanted to share some news regarding the development of the game. He asserts thatAlan Wake 2 is now playable from start to finish internally, and that it is in intense production, with almost all of its content. The next step will be to polish the whole experience, with bug fixes in sight. What let us hope for an upcoming appearance of the title, even if a release for 2023 is not yet fully acquired.

Virtala also stated that for now, Alan Wake Remastered hasn’t generated any royalties yet, but he expects that to change when the release ofAlan Wake 2 will inevitably boost sales of the remaster.

Control 2 is also moving forward, as is Max Payne

This financial statement also allows us to learn where the studio’s other projects are at, starting with Control 2just recently confirmed. The second episode has just passed the “proof-of-concept” phase, which determines the feasibility of the project with the first bases of the gameplay which are posed, which means that it could soon return to preproduction. Same thing for Condor And Vanguardthe two multiplayer and cooperative oriented games from the studio.

As for game remakes Max Paynewe are still stuck at the concept stage, although the studio says it’s all progressing well. In other words, none of these projects are ready to see the light of day for a few years, but we will be satisfied with ALan Wake II for this year, if the schedule is respected.
