Alan Wake 2 release date moved to October 27

By Remedy’s own admission, this 10-day postponement was decided in the hope of giving players more time to enjoy the other titles that catch their eye in the same month. These include productions such as Assassin’s Creed Mirage (October 5), Forza Motorsport (October 10), Lords of the Fallen (October 13), Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (October 20) and Super Mario Bros. Wonder (October 20).

Strategic retreat

Often perceived as the challenger who has come to swim among fish bigger than him, Alan Wake 2 will therefore let the wave pass to finally land on October 27. Although long awaited by fans, Alan Wake 2 nonetheless the sequel to a game that had not met with enormous success at the time of the Xbox 360 and whose recent Alan Wake Remastered did not achieve sufficient sales to make its production profitable.

Suffice to say that with or without this 10-day lag, Alan Wake 2, which Remedy considers to be “his biggest project”, is not winning in the big fall fight that is coming. Published by Epic Games Publishing, which bears development and marketing costs, the game will be released for download on PS5, Xbox Series, and the Epic Games Store. The title will be sold for 60 euros on consoles and 50 euros on PC.
