Just to wait before the arrival ofAlan Wake 2 on our PCs, Remedy Entertainment takes stock of the required configurations.
Surprise ! While big video games tend to be ever more demanding, Alan Wake 2 is perhaps not as demanding as we might have feared, especially for a title which puts so much emphasis on its level of graphic requirements.
Please note, this is not a question of running it on an Intel UHD Graphics iGPU, even 770. On the other hand, even the heaviest of the required configurations only require “one” Ryzen 7 3700X and the lightest ones are satisfied with a GeForce RTX 2060.
RTX 2000 and RX 6000 as a bare minimum
Indeed, for the Remedy studio, it is clear that GTX graphics cards belong to the past and a GTX 1080 Ti is no longer even recommended for the minimum configuration. The same goes for AMD cards with a minimum of the RX 6000 generation.
Note also that the Finns seem not to pay much attention to ARC graphics cards from Intel and that the 16 GB of RAM constitute as much a strict minimum as a necessary maximum. The studio clearly favors video memory.

- Target resolution and FPS: 1080p at 30 FPS.
In the same way as what CD Projet RED recommended for Cyberpunk 2077we note that SSD is the only storage medium currently taken into account by game developers.

- Target resolution and FPS: 2160p at 60 FPS
Alan Wake 2 and ray tracing: “ more beautiful life » ?
Quite surprisingly, enabling ray tracing does not necessarily lead to a notable increase in system requirements. In reality, it all depends on the level of precision desired. On the other hand, for path tracing, without at least a GeForce RTX 4070, there is no salvation.

High configuration (high ray tracing + path tracing)

- Graphics card: GeForce RTX 4080
- Processor: Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel equivalent

- Graphics preset: high + high ray tracing + patch tracing

The question now is whether you have the PC you need to discover Alan Wake 2 in its best light or if you plan to invest. You have at least until October 27 to decide.
