Alarm after lightning – violent storm front moved across Tyrol

A violent storm front moved from west to east across Tyrol on Thursday evening. Due to heavy rain and flooding, there were some fire brigade operations. Occasionally, lightning strikes also triggered forest fires, but no serious consequences were known for the time being.

The weather event was reflected in the Tyrol control center with a number of alarm messages. First in the Oberland, then also in the direction of the Unterland. “In Wenns in Pitztal, the fire brigade had to move out because of the water,” said an employee of the Tyrol control center when asked by “Krone”. Forest fires didn’t go badIn Huben in the Ötztal valley, lightning struck a forest fire, which, however, no longer required intervention after the fire brigade was deployed. Fortunately, the consequences of a forest fire in Tobadill were just as minor. Later there was mainly water damage, among other things in Fritzens, the Floriani disciples had to move out.
