Alarm for Cobra 11 – the highway police: Big changes are waiting for the new season

There are big changes in the action series "Alarm for Cobra 11 – The Autobahn Police". The start date for the new season is set.

RTL has had an "Alarm for Cobra 11 – The Autobahn Police" since 1996. After 24 years, the action series now gets a general overhaul. "A new team, a new look, narrative diversity and multifaceted characters," the broadcaster promises.

New colleagues for Erdogan Atalay

Leading actor Erdogan Atalay (53) returns to the highway police as Semir Gerkhan ten months after the events in autumn 2019. His character has pushed his mother's release from a Turkish prison to its limits. But life went on in Germany as well.

There is a new investigative duo consisting of Pia Stutzenstein (31) aka Police Commissioner Vicky Reisinger, Atalay's first female partner, and Nicolas Wolf (28) alias Max Tauber. The highway police also have a new head: Patrick Kalupa (40) plays Roman Kramer. And Christopher Patten (33) plays a key role as Vicky's ex-boyfriend and colleague Marc.

In addition to the new cast members, there have been further changes to "Alarm for Cobra 11 – The Autobahn Police": a new series logo, a modern adaptation of the identification melody and a realignment of content. Thus, "racist tendencies within the police, judicial errors and the exploration of moral and legal boundaries" run through the entire season. Is Semir Gerkhan's new partner really a racist? What are you and your ex-boyfriend hiding? And how will the old hand find its way as a new member of the team?

"Fack ju Göhte" star Gizem Emre (25) slips back into her role as Dana, the daughter of Erdogan Atalay's character.

From August 20, 2020, the six new episodes will run every Thursday at 8:15 p.m. on RTL. It starts with a double episode. The episodes can already be seen on TVNow a week in advance.
