The threatening incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Freundsbergstrasse in Innsbruck. Several children were on their way to school when some of them were approached by an unknown man. In one case, the stranger demanded money and a cell phone from the children. He waved a knife around in front of a boy. The boy immediately called his mother. “In another case, the unknown person asked a student to come with him,” the police describe further details. The boy then called his mother on his cell phone. With this he drove the perpetrator away. The man disappeared towards Gutshofpark. The 23-year-old helped children and was followed. The stranger was also forced to flee a second time that day. A young woman noticed what he was doing and came to help children. The man then pursued the 23-year-old towards Reichenauerstrasse. Only when the young woman shouted energetically at her pursuer did he run away. The police are investigating. The perpetrator is described as follows: He was around 20 years old, 170 to 175 centimeters tall, slim, had light hair and a very light skin tone. He wore glasses and was wearing a black hooded jacket, dark trousers and a dark scarf. Please contact the Innsbruck City Police Command at: 059133/75-3333 (crime department).
