The EverEver team started from an observation: 60% of purchases of household appliances are made following a breakdown. So, how can we reduce the share of these purchases and avoid landfills for abandoned devices? For EverEver, the answer inevitably involves repairable household appliances, and simply. Because yes, only 10% to 20% of broken dishwashers are repaired. Which means that machines weighing 45 g on average are thrown away while a simple part weighing around 100 g needs to be changed.
Led by engineer Martin Hacpille, the EverEver team created the Albert dishwasher from scratch, which aims to last at least 20 years. Other manufacturers are making this same bet. The Scandinavian Asko, for example, claims to carry out tests to offer a long life to these devices. If these manufacturers are the exception, the rule is rather the rapid obsolescence of dishwashers.
For their part, EverEver and its Albert promise 20 years of availability on spare parts, 5 years of manufacturer’s warranty and 3 additional years on spare parts, 80% of which are manufactured in France and 17% in Europe. To repair it, no more complicated instructions, the manufacturer puts tutorials online to support the user. He says a simple screwdriver and allen wrench are enough; which strongly encourages users to repair the device themselves, without difficulty.
This 14 place setting and energy class C (A+++) dishwasher can also change its front and its control panel to match the rest of the kitchen. Albert can be dressed in seven different colors and four others are available in limited edition. It is equipped with 3 drawers, including one for cutlery. Their position is also adjustable depending on the dishes placed inside. Finally, a hidden drawer takes place under the device and allows you to store tablets and other accessories.
On pre-sale since October 31, 2023, the Albert dishwasher is put online on the Ulule crowdfunding site. It is advertised at €530 free-standing and €480 recessed. Prices will increase at the end of the fundraising campaign to reach €900 and €850 respectively. Only problem: Albert will not arrive in homes until March 2025. In the meantime, EverEver offers loan devices, in only a few departments.
