  • Aldi customers have discovered a strange lamp.
  • Now they are puzzling over what purpose the blue light serves.

When you enter an Aldi discount store, your eye usually immediately falls on all the goods lined up around you, less often on the ceiling. Many people probably think that there is nothing interesting to see there.

But if you look up, you might see a lamp with a strange blue light. A photo of such a lamp was shared in the online community Reddit and the purpose of this blue light was discussed.

These are probably UV LED lamps that are used to inhibit the development of bacteria and mold on goods. This also makes sense since the picture above was taken near the produce department.

The operators of supermarkets and discount stores also use LED light to make goods look fresher, to create a pleasant shopping atmosphere and even to attract customers to certain areas of the store through the use of colors.

There is also a very special collaboration between Aldi Nord and the singer Alexander Marcus, which resulted in a crazy music video about vegetables at Aldi.
