Aldi: Discounter removes 100 products from its range

Discounter Aldi seems to be changing its range. But now around 100 products should fly off the shelves.

Who does not know it? As a rule, you have one to three supermarkets where you shop every week – and then the same products often end up in the car. At least as far as the basic supply is concerned, we all have our favorites that our hand automatically reaches out on the shelf. At Aldi, however, you could soon reach into the void. The discounter is supposed to take loads of products out of the range.

Aldi Süd says goodbye to products

As reported by the consumer portal "chip.de", among other things, Aldi should plan to change a few things. There is talk of 100 to 150 products that could disappear from the shelves of the discounter in the future. This includes common products such as toilet paper, kitchen rolls and drinks.

What sounds strange at first is not a cause for concern: things could only be available in a different form. For example, Aldi Süd is to adapt and expand the pack size of toilet paper to the increasing demand. Some products may therefore disappear in their familiar form, but will be replaced. The same applies to kitchen rolls, which should also return in a different size.

The situation is different with so-called test items, which Aldi Süd is taking into its range for some time to assess how they are being accepted. According to "chip.de", some of them should not meet the sales targets and then disappear again. The well-known items included should be the fruit-flavored Aqua Plus mineral water and own-brand iced tea.

So: Changing the range is not a cause for concern and is part of the discounter's normal test run. Those who soon can't find a well-known product need not be sad – maybe it just makes room for an exciting newcomer on the shelf. And to all the hamsters out there: Aldi Süd assured "chip.de" that there will still be enough paper goods available!
