Peanuts, cashews, walnuts, hazelnuts & Co.: They are a popular snack in Germany. According to “Statista”, per capita consumption was 5.5 kilograms in the period 2021/2022. A popular nut variety at Aldi is now being sold PL Food GmbH called back. Affected customers can also return the products to the relevant branches without presenting the receipt.

Other varieties of the brand or, for example, the same variety with a different best-before date are not affected. According to the press release, PL FoodCom GmbH and the corresponding trading companies have already withdrawn the goods from sale as a precautionary measure.

Note: There are different information in circulation, where the products were sold. According to “produktwarning.eu” they were delivered to various ALDI Süd companies in August. “Lebensmittelwarning.de” reports that the products were sold in the federal states of Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein, which would also include ALDI Nord.

Instead, a press release from PL Food GmbH states that the products were delivered to branches in Mönchengladbach, Rheinsberg, Ebersberg, Dormagen, Adelsdorf and Langenfeld. Due to the different information, we recommend, to be on the safe side, look at the data on any pistachio packages that may be in the cupboard and compare the information.
