Alec Baldwin is back on the set of Rust, a year and a half after the fatal accident that killed Halyna Hutchins.

A good year and a half after the fatal accident of camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (1979-2021): Alec Baldwin (65) is back on the set of “Rust”. The actor was back in front of the camera for the western for the first time this weekend. Charges against him for involuntary manslaughter were only recently dropped. On October 21, 2021, Halyna Hutchins died from a shot fired by Baldwin during rehearsals from an accidentally loaded gun.

Alec Baldwin reportedly “in a good mood” back on set

Images of Alec Baldwin’s start of filming appeared in various media. The star wore a full cowboy costume and sported a full white beard.

The performer is said to have been in “good spirits”, eh according to “People” an insider reveals. The night before he is said to have eaten sushi with his wife Hilaria Baldwin (39) and their children nearby.

“Picture” showed a photo of Baldwin handing a gun to an employee. Striking: He holds out the gun, grip first. After the fatal accident on the set, safety is obviously a top priority.

Montana instead of New Mexico: New location for “Rust”

The makers of “Rust,” which includes Baldwin as co-producer, had decided to film in a different location. Filming began on October 6, 2021 in the US state of New Mexico.

Now the set has been rebuilt in Montana. Incidentally, during dismantling in November 2021, an employee was bitten by a poisonous spider. His arm could only be saved through several operations. So shooting in New Mexico was ill-fated.

So now the restart in Montana. “While it’s bittersweet, I’m grateful that a brilliant and dedicated new production team is joining the former cast and crew to complete what Halyna and I started,” said director Joel Souza (49).

The late camerawoman’s widower is now a producer

“I will do everything I can to honor Halyna’s legacy and make her proud,” said the filmmaker, who was injured in the accident. According to “Bild”, Joel Souza is said to have given an emotional speech before the first shoot

Matthew Hutchins, the deceased’s widower, will serve as executive producer. Bianca Cline is the new cinematographer. She donates her fee to charity. However, Halyna Hutchins should be named as the camerawoman in the opening credits so that she can qualify for any awards.

Filming in Montana is scheduled to continue until the end of May. A theatrical release of “Rust” is not yet known.
