Is Alec Baldwin refusing to assist the authorities with the investigation into the death of Halyna Hutchins on the “Rust” set?

Recently there were allegations that Alec Baldwin (63) allegedly refused to support the authorities in their investigations into the fatal incident during the filming of the western “Rust”. The actor has now spoken on Instagram and firmly contradicts the allegations.

“Any suggestion that I am not complying with inquiries, orders, demands or search warrants regarding my telephone is nonsense. That is a lie”, tells Baldwin in a video clip. After the tragedy on the set of the film, a search warrant was issued in December, like the US broadcaster CNN at that time had reported citing available court documents.

“That’s all that counts”

According to Baldwin, it is a “process” that will take time. For example, it must be clarified what exactly the investigators want to see. “You can’t just go through your phone and take your photos or love letters to your wife or whatever.” The best and only way to be respectful of the death of Halyna Hutchins (1979-2021) is “to find out the truth”. It is therefore also his goal that all parties involved in the investigation “do everything in their power to find out what really happened. That is all that counts”.

In October 2021, during a rehearsal on the set of the western “Rust”, a gun previously handed to Baldwin was fired. The cameraman Halyna Hutchins was fatally injured. The events are still not fully clarified. The police later said that there were live ammunition in the gun. It is still unclear how this got to the set.
