fun, news, tips… what else?

Alexia Laroche-Joubert confided in TV Magazine and returned to the evolution of the famous Miss France beauty contest, of which she took over the reins at the end of 2021.

It is far from the time of Geneviève de Fontenay… And for good reason, the election of Miss France has been modernized over the years to finally offer a total renewal for its 2023 edition. Indeed, the new president of the company Miss France, Alexia Laroche-Joubert, took over the election and got down to put her paw there as it should. First with the change of the director of the Miss France committee, Sylvie Tellier, who has been replaced by Cindy Fabre, Miss France 2005, since August 2022. Then with the changes in the rules of the election which have made big noise. A simple evolution according to Alexia Laroche-Joubert who spoke with TVMagazine and who did not hesitate to come back to these famous modifications. “The rule change is recent, it is only the first year. We are not in a revolution but in an evolution” she thus confided. “What I find important is to show this evolution by small touches“, she also explains. “We are not going to impose it, it is not in our philosophy. Miss France belongs to the public, it is a heritage show that has always been ahead of many things. I think women have to be given time to register with awareness“. And to add: “Our criteria have changed but not our values, which remain elegance, repartee, general knowledge, naturalness, photogenicity, charisma and finally empathy because Miss France goes out to meet people“.

Significant changes

Alexia Laroche-Joubert has thus carried out a complete overhaul of the selection criteria to participate in the most famous hexagonal beauty contest. For starters, the age limit no longer exists, whereas before, after 24, it was over! Ditto for the ban on tattoos which has been lifted. The president of the Miss France election has also decided to open the contest to married women, mothers, as well as transgender women. A real revolution, whatever one may say! And you what do you think ?
