Some filmmakers have the ability to mark the imagination and memory of viewers with a single shot in a film or even a single image. A know-how that undoubtedly corresponds to a director like Alfred Hitchcock, who in almost each of his films knew how to impose a visually memorable sequence.

Cary Grant has just been dropped off by a bus on a long lost road in the depths of Indiana. He has an appointment with a certain Kaplan, but no one comes, and his character finds himself alone in the middle of cornfields as far as the eye can see, with rare cars coming to break the immobility of the landscape. When suddenly, a plane arrives in the distance, which will quickly prove to be threatening and attack the hero, who will first have to throw himself on the ground, before trying to hide in the cornfield.
Another striking image at the end of Les Oiseaux. After violent attacks by gulls in Bodega Bay, the heroes of the film take refuge in a farmhouse where they barricade all the windows to protect themselves from these threatening animals. Melanie hears a noise upstairs and goes upstairs to discover a hole in the roof. It is then hordes of birds that attack the young woman, dealing her hundreds of killer pecks.
Last image, undoubtedly the most famous of all the filmography of the master of suspense. The famous scene of the shower of Psychosis in which Janet Leigh is stabbed by a mysterious old woman with a concealed face, a scene that has become iconic thanks to the impeccable staging of the director, but also thanks to this strident music which still resonates in our ears .
