Directed in 1951 by Hamilton Luske, Wilfred Jackson and Clyde Geronomi, adapted from the classic by Lewis Carroll, this famous animated feature film follows the eventful journey of Alice, a little girl who tries desperately to catch up with a White Rabbit to ask him where he will. What could have remained a short health walk then turns into a trip without tail or head through the fantastic Wonderland.

The live-action sequel
Almost 60 years after the original film, a live-action sequel is produced, under the leadership of Tim Burton. In this new feature film, Alice is now a young adult played by Mia Wasikowska and who is about to get married. Just before the wedding, she then plunges back into the White Rabbit hole and leaves for Wonderland, where she will meet a Mad Hatter played by Johnny Depp, a Queen of Hearts played by Helena Bonham Carter, and a Caterpillar dubbed by Alan Rickman .

Present at the end of the feature film directed by Tim Burton in 2010, as well as in the original works of Lewis Carroll, the terrifying Jabberwocky was initially supposed to appear in the animated film. This idea, considered too frightening for a young audience, and perhaps a little out of step with the rest of the story, was finally abandoned.

Time is a particularly central concept in Alice in Wonderland, notably embodied by the White Rabbit who never stops running to arrive on time and looking at his watch with a distraught look.
