500 Hz is the refresh rate of the Alienware AW2524HF, thegaming screen the fastest on the market at this stage. Announced at CES 2023, this new monitor has been talked about several times as part of its French release… now imminent.

We told you about it a few months ago, we now know that it will arrive (very) soon in France. The Alienware AW2524HF, first announced at CES 2023 in January, is about to be marketed in our latitudes. Through a press release shared with the press a few days ago, Alienware tells us that this new screen, the fastest on the market to date, will be marketed in France on September 12, at 679 euros. A sum ultimately less than expected, because this monitor has been marketed in the United States since March at a price of 829.99 dollars.

An exceptional screen… thanks to its speed

By adopting a refresh rate of 500 Hz, the Alienware AW2524HF seeks above all to appeal to e-sports enthusiasts and gamers who want the lowest possible latency. And in the matter, we are spoiled, this monitor falling to 0.5 ms (gray to gray) only. This is one of the lowest response times on the market, perfect for avoiding ghosting as much as possible.

To provide such performance, Alienware relies on Fast IPS technology, which aims to permanently replace the aging TN technology, but known for its low response time. There is also an AMD FreeSync Premium certification, but beware: no compatibility with NVIDIA G-Sync technology is on the menu immediately. This is also one of the (many) concessions made by this screen which definitely relies on speed.

Fairly standard specifications for the rest

Because for the rest of its specifications, the Alienware AW2524HF is a Full HD screen (1920 by 1080 pixels) all that is most classic, in 16: 9 format. It turns out even smaller than average, with a diagonal of only 24.5 inches.

We are also limited to full coverage of the sRGB spectrum, Alienware ignoring the DCI-P3 gamut, which is more and more expected on high-end screens. That said, we still benefit from compatibility with the HDR10 standard, with HDR400 certification as a bonus.

As for the on-board connectors, nothing stunning, but the essential is there, with two DisplayPort 1.4 ports (supporting the display at 500 Hz), an HDMI 2.1 port (display at 255 Hz this time) and a hub comprising four USB-A ports arranged in two different locations on the chassis.

Note that this French launch of the Alienware AW2524HF is taking place in parallel with the announcement of a brand new Aurora R16 tower at Alienware, benefiting from a completely redesigned design.
