Alisha, 14, found dead in the Seine

The body of a 14-year-old girl was found in the Seine on the evening of March 8. Two high school students were taken into custody and are suspected of having beaten her and then pushed her into the river.

School bullying continues to kill. On the evening of March 8, the body of a 14-year-old college student, Alisha, was found in the Seine, in Argenteuil in the Val-d'Oise. An assassination investigation was opened by the Pontoise prosecutor's office. According to information from the Parisian, two 15-year-old teenagers, a boy and a girl, were taken into custody in the premises of the Cergy judicial police. Alisha was reportedly the victim of school harassment and the two high school students are suspected of having beaten her before pushing her into the Seine and then fleeing.

It was the mother of the teenager suspected of the murder who notified the police. As Eric Corbaux, the public prosecutor of Pontoise, explained in a press release “Around 7:30 pm, a mother came to report to the Argenteuil police station that her 15-year-old son came home accompanied by his girlfriend, also aged 15, between 4 and 5 pm and announced to him that they had just hit a young girl and that she fell into the Seine. " The latter then went there and found a glove with a lock of hair. She eventually notified the police and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. Alisha's lifeless body was found nearby in the evening. For her part, the mother of the girl had reported her disappearance around 8 p.m.

Intimate photos broadcast

While the two suspected teenagers took advantage of the young man's mother's departure to flee, they were eventually found with a relative. “On-site forensic examination of the body revealed signs of blows to the head and face. The autopsy must make it possible to precisely determine the causes of death ", added the prosecutor.

Le Parisien reports that the young girl was harassed by these two high school students and that a fight had already broken out a week earlier in the school. According to other students, they posted intimate photos of the victim on the Internet and were "Fired because of her". A disciplinary council was to take place. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of Alisha's death.

School bullying, a scourge

This new death linked to bullying has shocked many. The Hugo Association, which fights against this scourge, expressed its support for the victim's family. “Today unpunished in France, school bullying must be included in the Penal Code and a specific offense must be created. This is the meaning of our commitment for which we are currently working and which echoes the proposals of MP (MoDem) Erwan Balanant from Finistère and his report from last October ", said Hugo Martinez, president of the Association. And to continue: "It is not a crime to punish that we want, but a crime to help those guilty of these facts to become aware of their acts and find the path of a capacity of expression of an ill-being other than by the violence. "

Currently, the penalties for bullying vary depending on the age of the victim. If the victim is under 15, the harasser risks up to 3.5 years in prison and a maximum fine of 7,500 euros. A reduced sentence, however, if the victim is over 15 years old, since his executioner risks, at most, up to two and a half years in prison and a fine of 7,500 euros.
