Narrative card game, forest has just been announced by the French studio Alkemi. Published by Dear Villagers, the game should be released on PC and Switch during the summer of 2022.
Foretales tells the story of a world on the brink of collapse, doomed by a dark prophecy. In this medieval universe populated by anthropomorphic animals, you will play a little thief named Volepain. Only he can stop the curse that is ravaging the kingdom, he will however be able to form a team to face the situation. His companions will each have their own skills.
As you adventure, the maps will help you navigate your way through multiple encounters and scripted situations. And if the deck building will allow you to get into good old fights, cunning and discretion will sometimes be required. It’s up to you to make the best decisions for you and your companions. The game thus offers a branching story where the different plots will lead you to several possible endings. Your path will lead you to save the world or, on the contrary, to bring about its downfall.
With its board game inspirations, Foretales will take you on an original world punctuated by a soundtrack by composer Christophe Héral.
