The Oze range of electric scooters, which belongs to Intersport, will welcome three new models in January 2024: the Oze E-Moove, E-Speed ​​and E-Speed ​​Pro, which focus on durability and prices ranging between 500 and 750 euros to attract the general public.

You may not have known it, but Intersport does indeed have a range of electric scooters under its Oze brand. “It was not a great success. The problem was monitoring product quality. Here we have a clean slate», Tells us Xavier Rousseau, Category manager of the brand.

For the occasion, Intersport has teamed up with Micro Mobility, with one main objective in mind: to make products that are durable and easily repairable if necessary. “The idea is that we control the value chain. We will train technicians internally with a specific module for any repair to be done on the scooter», Xavier explains to us.

Assembly in Asia

In total, more than 350 stores in the Intersport network will be able to accommodate a faulty model. Each spare part will be delivered within less than 48 hours. The goal is not to deprive the customer of their machine for too long a period. Each store will also be entitled to its own diagnostic kit to identify and analyze anomalies.

For its part, Micro Mobility is involved in the overall design of the product. On the other hand, assembly is overseen by a factory in Asia, that of QuickWheel in this case. The latter also deals with the self-service electric scooters that we know – Lime in particular -, “with important quality processes”, we are assured.

In total, three new models will arrive. Here are their names and prices, just to kill the suspense straight away:

• Oze E-Moove: 499.99 euros;
• Oze E-Speed: 599.99 euros;
• Oze E-Speed ​​Pro: 749.99 euros.

The trio shares some common elements. Already, the folding system is the same: a classic lever is used to unlock the steering column, whose hook placed on the handlebars clips onto a hook placed on the mudguard. The reflectors, lighting and mudguards are also identical.

IPX5 and 10-inch wheels

Each scooter is based on 10-inch wheels with inner tubes. Only the Speed ​​are entitled to an additional preventive layer against punctures. Same coating, same regenerative brake, same mobile application, IPX5: in these four areas, nothing distinguishes them. To do this, you have to look at the motor and the battery.

The Oze E-Moove boasts a 300 W front motor capable of climbing, in theory, positive elevations of 16%. Its 275 Wh battery should allow it to travel around 25 km, even if this value is not definitive since the brand is still carrying out tests. The scooter weighs its weight: 16 kg.

Oze E-Speed, the future flagship model

On the handlebars, no screen has been installed. To know its level of autonomy and its assistance mode, you need to take a look at the two LEDs placed on the deck. For autonomy, the green color indicates between 75 and 100% remaining, the orange color between 50 and 75%, and so on. The rear brake is provided by a drum brake.

The Oze E-Speed ​​is moving upmarket – it will be the flagship model of the range – with a 350 W front motor this time. Good news: a mid-range screen is coming to the party, as well as a more generous battery of 375 Wh in total for an estimated range of 35-40 km. At the rear, this time there is a disc brake. All for 17 kilos on the scale.

Finally, the Oze E-Speed ​​Pro is armed with a more than welcome front suspension (photo above), which should provide a nice dose of comfort. The 500 W rear motor goes even further, as it is supposed to climb hills of 26%. It also has a wider deck, a front drum brake and a more high-end screen (third photo above)

Availability in early 2024

The battery is the same as its little sister, namely 375 Wh. But with greater power, you should logically expect less autonomy. This model also weighs even heavier than the two previous ones: 18 kg in total.

The E-Moove, E-Speed ​​and E-Speed ​​Pro will arrive in the Intersport catalog in January 2024. It will then be time to test them in depth and compare them to their competitors from Xiaomi and Segway. For the E-Moove, we are thinking of the Xiaomi Scooter 4 (currently 499 euros) and the Ninebot KickScooter F2 E (549 euros).

For its part, the E-Speed ​​will face the Ninebot KickScooter F2 Plus (599 euros), while the E-Speed ​​Pro will compete with the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro (799 euros) and the slightly more expensive Ninebot KickScooter MAX G2 (899 euros). euros)
