The back-to-school allowance (ARS) aims to financially support parents during a period when expenses are on the rise. This aid will be paid at the end of August and its amount will depend on the income of the household and the age of the child.

From 376.98 to 411.56 euros depending on the age of the child

The 2022 amounts of the back-to-school allowance reach 376.98 euros for a child of 6 to 10 years old, 397.78 euros for students aged 11 to 14, and 411.56 euros for children aged 15 to 18. There is no procedure for children under 16 years old. The Family Allowance Fund is responsible for pay the allowance automatically. For children over 16, as school is no longer compulsory at this age, you must declare to CAF that your child is still in school or learning for the year 2022.

Parents who are not CAF recipients must go to the caf.fr website to download a form and return it. The ARS is paid at the end of August in one go.
