With Android 13 aka “Tiramisu”, Google is continuing its Android history in 2022 and with it its traditional naming. This article gives you an overview of all previous Android versions along with their cute code names.
Android: a journey through time through the candy aisle
The fact that Google has always named its OS versions after sweets should no longer be a secret after 14 years of Android history. What was originally intended for (mainly) internal purposes has developed into a popular tradition over the years. But that’s not all: the code names also follow the alphabet. So it’s not surprising that the successor to the current Android 12 called “Snow Cone” will bear the delicious title “Tiramisu”.
