From “Angel Cake” to “Lollipop” to “Tiramisu”: These are all previous Android versions since 2008.

Android: a journey through time through the candy aisle

The fact that Google has always named its OS versions after sweets should no longer be a secret after 14 years of Android history. What was originally intended for (mainly) internal purposes has developed into a popular tradition over the years. But that’s not all: the code names also follow the alphabet. So it’s not surprising that the successor to the current Android 12 called “Snow Cone” will bear the delicious title “Tiramisu”.
